Opportunity for Ancient Greek and Latin Graduate Students: Research Participation

Posted on behalf of the Department of Government, Harvard University.

We are seeking motivated graduate students who study Latin and/or Ancient Greek for a paid part-time research position.  We are developing ways to apply new computerized methods to aid in the discovery of new ideas – a form of computer-assisted insight creation, reading, or discovery.  Team members will learn how to use these new tools, but we don’t expect you to have any experience with statistics, computer science, or automated methods.  Team members will work closely with Professor Gary King (gking.harvard.edu) and graduate student Andrew Hall (andrewbenjaminhall.com/), and will use the tool to help us make new discoveries about these ancient texts.  Team members are also welcome to use the tool to produce ideas for their own substantive research, if they so desire. Applicants should be proficient in Ancient Greek and/or Latin, possess experience with ancient literature, and be willing to test out some cool new tools.

Interested?  Please contact Andrew Hall (hall@fas.harvard.edu) immediately.
